We are Denise and Ed Shideler of Winchester, Virginia; partners in marriage, business, small-scale organic farming, beekeeping and backyard chicken keeping. We’ve lived in the Shenandoah Valley for over ten years and we love everything about it. We love photography, gardening, cooking, traveling, home keeping, and our five children and nine beautiful grands.
WHAT’S IN A NAME?
All of our endeavors in business have a common theme…the name Eden. We chose this because it’s a combination of our names (Ed & Denise) and because of our mutual love of gardening and that romantic tie to the Garden of Eden. It seemed like the natural choice because it reflects our combined efforts and hard work we put into creating our beautiful life. Denise uses it for her lifestyle website, Reinventing Eden and, of course, in our photography business.
PHILOSOPHY: A great photograph captures a brief moment in time; it can reflect joy, sadness, love, admiration, a playful spirit, passion, sexuality, the tremendous strength and tenderness of parental and grandparental love, and so many other emotions and events. A photograph is a record; a testament to a meaningful relationship, a moment, or an important event in your life.
Our goal is to help you attain your vision for your photographs, and we are happy to add our own creativity to help support your vision. Our style is simple and relaxed, and we prefer natural light and outdoor settings in the morning or evening hours when the sunlight is golden. Our goal is to make you as comfortable and relaxed as possible in order to produce the images you desire. We can give you tips on clothing to wear, and how to handle babies and children before and during a shoot to make them most relaxed and cooperative.
LOCATION: The Shenandoah Valley offers an abundance of beautiful locations for breathtaking, natural backdrops. Maternity, newborn and women’s intimate portraits may be done in the comfort of your own home or in ours. We will also travel to most any destination you have in mind (travel fees/expenses may be incurred).
